The platform will work completely autonomously

In France, the Sealhyfe offshore platform for the production of green hydrogen, which is capable of producing 400 kilograms of H2 per day, has been launched.

The plant of the Lhyfe company has a 1 MW electrolyser, which is installed on a special floating platform, reports OffshoreWIND.biz.

It is noted that this is the second phase of testing of such production. During the first stage of testing, which lasted eight months, the platform was located on a berth in the port of Saint-Nazaire. During this time, the platform underwent comparative analysis and optimization of technologies and systems.

The material said that the platform will work completely autonomously. It is connected to the underwater node of the SEM-REV Centrale Nantes marine test site by means of a trunk cable.

It is emphasized that the company's specialists will now reproduce all the tests that were carried out on the pier in order to compare the results. In addition, they will conduct additional tests in marine conditions.

The material added that Lhyfe plans to develop operational capabilities for managing platform movement and environmental loads, as well as testing software and algorithms for green hydrogen production.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the European Commission has officially adopted two delegated acts that define the detailed EU rules on renewable hydrogen.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has reserved a plot of land on the island of Maasvlakte for construction plant for the production of green hydrogen capacity up to 1 GW.
