The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine is working to create a database of energy products.
The appearance of such a base is provided by the Law of Ukraine "On Energy Efficiency", the press service reports State Energy Efficiency.
This law is aimed at implementing European instruments to increase energy efficiency. Among them are ecodesign and energy labeling of equipment and machinery. According to the agency, energy labeling requirements have now been introduced for a significant amount of machinery and equipment.
According to Andrii Mahmurov-Dyshlyuk, Head of the Technical Regulation Department of the Energy Efficiency Development Department of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, a database of energy consumption products in Ukraine will be created to ensure the functioning of the energy labeling system.
This database will include goods that are put into circulation and which are subject to the requirements of technical regulations on energy labeling of energy products.
It will form and continue to maintain this database on its website of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency. So far, the mechanism of its functioning is still being developed.
What will create such a database
- provide consumers with reliable information about the energy products put into circulation, energy efficiency classes indicated on the label, and other technical parameters in the product information sheet;
- assist state market surveillance authorities in the performance of their duties.
"Thanks to energy labeling, consumers receive information about the energy efficiency class of the product to make an informed choice and save money on energy bills during further use," the agency said.
Before EcoPolitics reported that the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation has implemented EU requirements for eco-design and energy labeling Ukrainian equipment and machinery.
