Ecologists from the Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Center (KECC) criticized the actions of the police of the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region regarding poachers who brutally killed a deer in the nature reserve.

The law enforcement officers returned the car to the perpetrators, and improvised means, such as a thermal imager, do not appear in the case materials at all, although they were present at the time of the arrest, KECC reports on Facebook.

Environmentalists said that at the beginning of November, poachers killed a young male spotted deer on the territory of the ornithological reserve of local importance "Urochyshche Vyazove", located in the Boryspil district.

Employees of the hunting service of Protsivske LLC and the state forest guard of the Boryspil Forest Farm heard shots, and after some time they noticed a car leaving the forest. After a long pursuit, the poachers were apprehended.

"In the trunk of the car there was deer meat, in the interior of the car – two weapons, 2 thermal imagers, cartridges, knives," the report says.

Environmentalists noted that the poachers cut off and left the deer's head at the scene of the crime.

The authors emphasized that the local police initiated a criminal case on the fact of illegal hunting, part 1 of Art. 248 of the Civil Code. The damage caused to nature reaches 30 thousand hryvnias.

"But then, according to insider information, something incomprehensible began to happen," they commented on the return of the car and the lack of a thermal imager in the case file.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, in the ecopark "Valley of Wolves" near the village of Synevyrska Polyana, dead deer were found, which poisoned with a substance similar to rat poison.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, animal defenders from the humanist movement UAnimals wrote a statement to the National Police against a 12-year-old girl from the Rivne region, who misbehaves with homeless cats, taunting and killing them on camera.
