The accomplice of the violator will probably have to compensate 747.8 thousand hryvnias of damage

In the Cherkasy region, the court found the poacher guilty of committing a criminal offense and forced him to reimburse 575.4 thousand hryvnia, as well as pay a fine of 17 thousand hryvnia.

In May 2022, a man, along with another violator, caught more than 1.3 million hryvnia during the spawning ban, reports Cherkasy fish protection patrol.

The violation occurred in the village of Ivakhny on the river Gorny Tikich.

It is noted that the prosecutor's office filed a civil lawsuit against the second poacher, who caused damage in the amount of 747.8 thousand hryvnia. His trial is ongoing.

The message emphasized that the money collected from the attacker will go to a special fund for the protection of the environment of the Monastic City Council.

“Remember, everyone must be held responsible and repair the damage caused by poaching. Therefore, we warn fishermen to follow the rules of fishing and fish responsibly,” the press service stressed.

The message also urged Ukrainians not to be indifferent and to report the facts of poaching or the sale of such fish to the "hot line" by calling (0472)31-02-76 or (063)896-65-93.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Ukraine, poachers for 9 months of 2022 caused damage to the environment in the amount of more than 41 million hryvnia.
