The concept is designed to help increase the amount of investments in the modernization of power grids

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Concept of implementation of "smart networks" in Ukraine until 2035 and approved the Action Plan for its implementation.

This, among other things, will help to gradually reduce electricity losses in networks by more than 4% and carbon emissions, the Ministry of Energy reports on Facebook.

The proposal was submitted by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The press service of the Ministry of Energy explained that "smart networks" are electric networks that ensure high-quality supply of electricity and increase its efficient use, applying electrical engineering technologies and IT to make the electric network more intelligent and efficient.

"The concept of the implementation of "smart networks" and the Plan of measures for its implementation set the framework for the implementation of modern technologies in the Ukrainian electric power industry, in particular in the process of rebuilding and restoring the energy infrastructure after the destruction by the Russian aggressor. The restored energy sector of Ukraine must become the embodiment of the most modern energy technologies and meet European energy efficiency standards ", the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko emphasized.

The concept is designed to contribute to increasing the volume of investments in the modernization of power networks, as well as to ensure the improvement of the quality and reliability of electricity supply for consumers.

In the message, it was noted that the implementation of the Concept provides for the reduction of electricity loss in power grids in Ukraine as a whole from 11.6% to 7.5%, or by 6 billion kWh. This is equivalent to 3 million tons of coal burned at the TPP.

It is expected that the costs of operational maintenance of power networks will decrease in total by at least 8.3 billion hryvnias, and the actual level of the index of the average duration of long interruptions in the power supply in the system (SAIDI) will decrease from 1700 to 100 minutes in 2035, which will correspond to the average European level.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Ukraine, the Government adopted the order "On the creation by the state enterprise "National Atomic Energy Generating Company "Energoatom" of a network of high-speed car electric charging stations". It is planned to create a network of 120 charging stations.
