This should reduce the administrative burden on the private sector without compromising environmental protection standards

Ukrainian businesses that have a negligible impact on the environment will be able to submit emissions reports in a simplified format. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a corresponding resolution.

This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.

The changes apply to business entities whose production facilities fall under the third group according to the classification in the Law "On the Protection of Atmospheric Air."

The wording of paragraph 7 of the Procedure for Submitting and Publishing Reports on Compliance with the Terms of Emission Permits, following the approval of the government resolution, has been amended as follows:

“A business entity, whose facility belongs to the third group in accordance with the Law of Ukraine 'On the Protection of Atmospheric Air', submits information for the main part of the report in any form at its own discretion.”

The Ministry of Economy believes that this approach will optimize reporting procedures for facilities with a minor level of environmental impact. At the same time, it should contribute to more effective interaction between authorities and businesses.

It is specifically emphasized that the resolution does not provide for any relaxation of atmospheric air protection requirements. Business entities remain obliged to:

  • comply with established maximum permissible emissions standards;
  • not violate the conditions of issued permits;
  • ensure the implementation of emission control measures to the atmosphere.
