The State Energy Efficiency Agency is developing the necessary by-laws for the European integration law "On Energy Efficiency"

Denmark will facilitate the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation in the field of energy efficiency to European standards.

In particular, the country will help develop energy efficiency obligation schemes, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving reports on Facebook.

It is noted that representatives of the State Energy Efficiency Agency and the Danish Energy Agency held a meeting to launch the next stage of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership Program (UDEP).

The first deputy head of the State Energy Efficiency Agency, Maria Malaya, emphasized that Ukraine considers energy efficiency as a tool in the fight against Russia's energy terrorism.

"This is one of the joint paths with the EU to energy independence and climate neutrality. Therefore, today we are doing everything to adapt the national legislation to the European one in energy efficiency. And we are grateful to Denmark for supporting our efforts in this," she said.

The press service emphasized that the State Energy Efficiency Agency is currently developing the necessary by-laws for the European integration law "On Energy Efficiency". One of the components of the law is the introduction of energy efficiency obligation schemes in Ukraine, as is practiced in the EU.

The message explained that the regulatory regulation of the introduction of such schemes and their practical application will contribute to the achievement of the target indicator of the annual reduction of energy consumption.

"I am convinced that the joint development of these energy efficiency obligation schemes will help Ukraine to fulfill its obligations within the framework of European integration. It will also become another driver of energy efficiency in Ukraine," Malaya added.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, Hanna Zamazeyeva, said that Denmark is ready to fully support Ukraine's initiatives to help the population and enterprises become energy efficient and prepare for winter.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed draft law No. 8433 "On amendments to chapter VI "Final and transitional provisions" of the Budget Code of Ukraine on the use of funds from accounts for the support of Ukraine." The document provides for the creation of the State Fund for decarbonization and energy-efficient transformation.
