The stadium became a field of debris and construction waste

The environment of the Chernihiv region suffered 676 million hryvnias in damage due to the destruction of the Yuri Gagarin Stadium in Chernihiv by the Russian army.

This amount of damage caused to the environment as a result of Russian aggression is calculated by specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate (SEI) in Chernihiv region.

The press service of the State Coinspection noted that after the arrival of Russian troops, the stadium became a field of wreckage of spectator sectors and bursts of artillery shells. "The racists have left almost nothing from the home arena of the Desna football club," the SEI added.

It is noted that the stadium was first shelled on March 5, 2022. At that time, only the east stand was damaged in the arena. And on March 11, as a result of the night air bombardment, the stadium suffered significant damage: the premises and buildings were damaged. The destruction was caused by littering of land with fragments of structures and construction waste in an area of 31,100 m2.

In view of this fact, environmental inspectors calculated the amount of damage caused to the environment due to land litter.

Official calculations will be handed over to law enforcement agencies in order to receive further reparations.

On the eve EcoPolitics reported that in Zaporozhye fire in the shopping and entertainment center , which arose as a result of rocket fire, caused damage to the environment, including atmospheric air, by 192.9 thousand hryvnias.
