The regional administration had previously reported that levels of harmful substances had exceeded the limit in one of the city’s districts

On Thursday, 3 September, air quality across the capital generally meets the established standards. No significant exceedances of pollution levels are currently being recorded, so there is no risk to people with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.

This is evidenced by data from the international monitoring platform IQAir.

As of 12:00, air quality across the city is generally good. The concentration of PM2.5 particulate matter is 6.6 µg/m3, which is slightly above the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard. This standard is set at 5.5 µg/m3.

The highest levels of dust pollution are being recorded by the monitoring station located on Mykola Amosov Street. There, the concentration of the pollutant stands at 9.2 µg/m³.

Earlier today, there was a temporary deterioration in air quality in the Obukhiv district. The Kyiv Regional State Administration advised people with heightened sensitivity to limit the time they spend outdoors, keep their windows closed and drink plenty of water.

Enemy attacks can cause localised air pollution. As EcoPolitics previously reported, levels of harmful substances can be up to 10 times higher than the norm. This is according to research by Ukrainian scientists.
