In the Nikolaev region, the first phase of the Tiligulskaya wind power plant with a capacity of 114 MW from 19 wind turbines was launched.

It will be able to supply energy to 200,000 households and avoid 400,000 tons of carbon emissions per year, Anna Zamazeyeva, head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, reports on Facebook.

She said that after all four planned phases of wind farms are completed, Ukraine, in addition to power generation, will receive a reduction in CO2 emissions by 1.7 million tons per year. The station's capacity should reach 500 MW, which will make it the largest in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

At the press office The State Energy Efficiency Committee stressed that this is the first wind farm built since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"The new wind farm is evidence of Ukraine's invincibility and its struggle for energy freedom," Zamazeyeva stressed.

She said that in May 2021, the Nikolaev Regional Council signed a memorandum of cooperation with DTEK, which will contribute to the economic and social development of the region through the construction of a wind farm.

It is noted that Ukraine has a significant potential in wind energy. Thus, during 2018-2022, 1.3 GW of WPP capacities were installed. It is planned that by 2030, 3.7 GW of new wind energy capacity will be built in the country.

On her Facebook page, Zamazeeva also said that Mykolaiv region received more than 20 mobile wind turbines from American partners.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Mykolaiv region, DTEK Group built the first stage of the Tiligulskaya wind power plant with a capacity of 114 MW out of the total declared 500 MW.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Deputy Energy Minister Yaroslav Demchenkov invited international partners to join the development of the Ukrainian wind power market, including offshore.
