The Cabinet of Ministers also adopted a number of resolutions to implement the Protocol on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers and bylaws necessary to implement the waste reform launched by Law No. 2320-IX On Waste Management.

In addition, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources worked to implement the Water Strategy until 2050, improve air quality, and implement European requirements for forest seeds and planting material.

Implementation is also ongoing:

  • The Roadmap for Cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the EU on Strategic Partnership in Critical Raw Materials;
  • Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on Ukraine's participation in the Civil Protection Mechanism for 2023-2024.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets is convinced that in 2026 Ukraine will be able to complete the implementation of most European environmental directives and regulations.
