Ukrainians will be provided with information on car emissions in car dealerships

At a thematic meeting of the government on environmental issues, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a number of decisions that should accelerate European integration.

This was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko in a telegram.

One of the key decisions was to update the National Classification System for Mineral Resources, which is now aligned with the UN Framework Classification. This will allow for a transition to international standards in the field of geology and subsoil use.

Changes in the system:

1) The industry will become more transparent and understandable for investors;

2) It will increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian raw materials on the world market;

3) It will open up new opportunities for business and economic development.

This step is also important in the context of the Agreement between Ukraine and the United States on cooperation in the field of mineral resources, signed this year.

Another decision that brings Ukraine closer to meeting the requirements for a “green transition” concerns informing buyers about the level of emissions from motor vehicles. From now on, when buying new passenger cars, Ukrainians will receive complete information about fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

Now, every car will have a sticker with data on emissions. Customers will also be able to obtain information about the most environmentally friendly car models at car dealerships.

This initiative should encourage Ukrainians to buy more environmentally friendly cars.

We would like to remind you that on July 15, the Ukrainian government adopted a resolution “On Approval of Requirements for the Form and Content of an Integrated Environmental Permit.”

The ministry called this regulatory act one of the most important adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in compliance with the requirements of Law No. 3855-IX “On Integrated Prevention and Control of Industrial Pollution.” It establishes a uniform form and requirements for an integrated environmental permit (IEP) – the main document of the entire industrial pollution reform.
