The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has dismissed Igor Zubovich, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

It became known from the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated May 6, 2026, published on the government website.

“Dismiss Ihor Olehovych Zubovych from the post of Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine at his own request”, – stated the document signed by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.

As previously reported by EcoPolitic, in the Ministry of Economy Ihor Zubovych coordinated the work of the Department of Environmental Protection, Prevention and Control of Industrial Pollution.

Zubovych was appointed to the top position in the merged ministry on August 1, 2025. He was repeatedly criticized by environmental activists. In particular, he was associated with the issuance of illegal quotas for tree felling in national nature parks. This prompted an appeal by activists to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Prior to joining the Ministry, Ihor Zubovych worked at the State Environmental Inspectorate. From September 2021, he served as head of the Southwest Regional Department of SEI, and from December 2021 – as the acting Chairman of the Inspectorate. In this post, the top official also failed to satisfy with his performance. In particular, in 2023, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy expressed no confidence in him.
