The cost of the Baltic Eagle wind farm reaches about $1.52 billion

In German waters in the Baltic Sea, the Baltic Eagle wind farm will be built with 50 turbines with a capacity of 476 MW.

For this, the Spanish company Iberdrola signed an exclusive agreement with Masdar (UAE), reports Reuters.

The project is said to be part of Iberdrola's strategy to sell advanced renewable energy projects to raise cash needed to finance its €47 billion investment plan. Mubadala can acquire a stake of up to 49% in the project.

The article emphasized that the value of Baltic Eagle reaches about $1.52 billion. The main contenders for the stake were Masdar, the Swiss fund EIP and the Australian asset management arm of Macquarie's green investment arm GIG.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Black Sea in Bulgaria, 16 European companies have launched the Black sea FLoating Offshore Wind (BLOW) project, within the framework of which they will build a floating wind power plant with a capacity of 5 MW.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the last 114 wind turbines were installed in Great Britain at the Sigrin wind power station. The wind farm will be Scotland's largest offshore wind farm and the world's deepest fixed-bottom installation.
