The EcoCommittee will hold a meeting on the implementation of EU norms on July 4

The members of the Working Group will be formed from the experts invited to the meeting

On Tuesday, July 4, a meeting of the Working Group of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will be held on the development of legislative initiatives regarding the implementation of EU norms and recommendations into Ukrainian legislation.

The meeting will be held via video conference at 4:00 p.m., according to the website of the eco-committee.

It is noted that the meeting of the Working Group will be devoted to the implementation of EU norms and recommendations in the following areas:

  • environmental control;
  • environmental damage;
  • environmental responsibility.

The message said that they plan to invite stakeholders with theoretical and practical experience in the implementation of environmental legislation of EU countries into Ukrainian legislation to the meeting. As well as specialists with a sufficient level of knowledge in the field of environmental control, environmental damage and environmental liability, who will form the composition of the Working Group.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources created a working group that will conduct an initial assessment of the state of implementation of EU legal acts (EU acquis) in the direction of environmental protection. In the European Commission's analytical report on Ukraine's ability to fulfill the conditions of EU membership in the environmental protection cluster the country received the lowest score – 1 out of a possible 5.
