In Prykarpattia, the Dolyna community began to develop a cellular energy network project so that the community could function in regime of an energy island disconnected from the Ukrainian power grid for several days.
This was announced by mayor Ivan Dyriv, emphasizing that Dolyna is the first community in Ukraine to implement this project, reports Reporter.
It is noted that under usual conditions the system will work in traditional mode. However, during a force majeure situation, it will be able to switch to alternative power sources, including wind, solar, and gas-powered generators.
Dyriv explained that the duration of work in non-volatile mode will depend on:
- generation capacities;
- distribution possibilities.
"We are currently developing this project," he said. – We want to attract funds from European partners. Such projects have already been implemented in Europe, so you can contact companies that have implemented it there."
It is noted that from objects of critical infrastructure, including hospitals, kindergartens, and schools, will be powered by a separate network. However, the terms of the project's implementation are currently uncertain, as they will depend on funding.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that for Trostyanets, in Sumy Oblast, a master plan was developed for the restoration and further development of energy systems, which provides for the gradual complete abandonment of gas burning at power plants.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, they want to create the largest energy-independent hub in Central and Eastern Europe in Kyiv.
