USAID will help Ukraine in green recovery and implementation of reforms

USAID is ready to support Ukraine in matters of climate policy implementation

Erin McKee, Deputy Head of USAID's Europe and Eurasia Bureau, said that the Agency will maximally contribute to the green recovery of Ukraine and the implementation of important environmental reforms.

Ruslan Strilets, head of the Ministry of Environment, said this while commenting on the meeting with McKee, reports Ministry of Environment.

She emphasized that the restored Ukraine is doomed to become green, because even the artistic combination of the colors of the Ukrainian flag - yellow and blue - turns into bright green.

According to McKee, USAID is ready to support Ukraine in the implementation of climate policy, public administration reform in the field of environmental protection, waste management reform, further digitalization of the environmental sphere, etc.

"USAID is a long-standing and reliable partner of the Ministry of Environment. I thank my colleagues for the constant cooperation and support of the Ukrainian environmental agenda. A huge thank you to the American people for supporting Ukraine in these difficult times for all of us," said Strilets.

211 scientists, national and international experts, representatives of the public presented a common vision of future transformations in the environmental sphere for the project of the National Recovery Plan of Ukraine in the "Environmental Safety" section.

Developments relate to the preservation of biological and landscape diversity; reproduction and tireless use of natural resources; formation and implementation of an effective climate policy; waste management systems; environmental monitoring, digital transformation, reforming the environmental protection industry, implementation of European directives.
