A waste sorting station has been opened in the Berezivska community in Sumy Oblast, where money from the sale of recyclables will be used to purchase material for weaving camouflage nets for Ukraine's defenders.

The station was opened by activists of the youth public organization "The Future Is Yours," Alla Martynenko reports in the Berezivska Hromada Facebook community.

"Small steps to a big goal! Community, join in," she called.

It is noted that the sorting station will operate at 1 Dovzhenko Street (near the Berizka store). Every Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00, project mentors will talk about the rules for collecting and sorting household waste.

The station will accept:

  • paper;
  • glass;

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the first eco-hub in the region was opened in Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, where money from the sale of recyclable materials will be sent to help the military. Now the community residents will be able to recycle plastic, including illiquid plastic, glass, checks, household appliances, etc.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Lutsk, the Waste Management Center "Clean Lutsk" began accepting used e-cigarettes (vapes or "disposables"), the batteries of which are used to produce power banks and flashlights for the military. This will help reduce the amount of electronic waste and bring victory closer.
