The community expressed gratitude for the first step towards cleaning up the area

Kyiv utility workers from "Kyivblagoustroy" removed from the territory of the landscape reserve Protasiv Yar MAF, which remained from the time of preparing the site for development.

Although the Supreme Court made a decision to refuse construction in January 2022, "Daytona Group" LLC delayed the case and was in no hurry to remove the garbage, reports the public organization "Protect Protasiv Yar" on Facebook.

The message stated that now the company will have to pay the bill sent by the Kyiv authorities for cleaning up the scrap.

Activists explained that after the court decision, the developer was in no hurry to return the land to the community. Therefore, the Kyiv City Council filed a lawsuit, demanding to remove obstacles in the use and management of the land plot – to dismantle and remove the MAF (a sales center that never happened), a fence and construction debris left there.

In the message, it was noted that the Commercial Court satisfied the KMR's claim in August 2022, but the developer decided to delay the case and appealed the decision in the appeals court.

"Without waiting for "good will" from the developer, today "Kyivblagoustrii" removed the MAF. The community of Protasovoy Yar is very grateful for the first step towards cleaning the territory, the activists said. "We look forward to cleaning up the rest of the trash."

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in July 2022, the Kyiv City Council supported the decision regarding creation of a landscape reserve on both slopes Protasiv Yar, for which public figure Roman Ratushny fought.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the economic chamber of the Supreme Court refused the "Bora" company to satisfy the cassation appeal regarding the section of Protasovoy Yar in Kyiv, thus depriving the possibility of conducting construction work there.
