Kyiv municipal utilities that maintain green spaces have set up 9 new mini-gardens in Kyiv.
Details of the city's greening were shared on the Kyiv City Council website this spring.
Kyiv residents will be able to admire the new mini-gardens and relax at the following addresses:
- Holosiivskyi district: Dmytro Peshev park between Zhylianska, Korolenkivska, Tarasivska streets;
- Darnytsia district: 12 Vyshniakivska Street;
- Desnianskyi district: 36 Ronald Reagan Street;
- Dniprovskyi district: Ivan Mykolaychuk Street (opposite the house 7-A);
- Obolonskyi district: 6, Heroiv Regiment Azov Street;
- Pecherskyi district: the park on Ivan Franko Square;
- Podilskyi district: 45 Vyshhorodska Street (second stage);
- Sviatoshynskyi district: 117 Beresteyskyi avenue;
- Solomenskyi district: 1/28 Prof. Karavayeva Street.
Oleksandr Voznyi, former director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation of the Kyiv City State Administration, said that more than 100 trees, 9,000 bushes, and almost 15,000 flowers were planted at these locations, and 8,600 square meters of lawns were arranged. He reminded that this is a continuation of the initiative launched last fall. Back then, new mini-public gardens were set up in all districts of Kyiv.
According to the former official, the Department saw that these spaces were popular among residents and received a lot of positive feedback. He noted that the mini-gardens are not only comfortable places for citizens to relax, but also contribute to improving the ecological state of Kyiv.
Acting Director General of Kyivzelenbud Olha Manko said that the mini-gardens were arranged by the municipal greenery maintenance companies on their own as part of the current improvement.
“The territory of the mini-gardens was equipped with comfortable benches, pedestrian paths, and some of them have playgrounds. Plants resistant to urban conditions, ornamental cereals and perennial flowers were used for landscaping,” the official said.
