Recently, a similar situation occurred in the Plosky River

In Khmelnytskyi, fish died en masse in the Southern Bug River the section between Svobody streets and Starokostyantinivske highway.

Video and photos of dozens of dead fish were posted by the head of the public organization "Richki Khmelnychchyna" Viktor Karvan on the community's Facebook page.

Karvan filmed the dead fish in the river, which is completely covered with gorse and other aquatic vegetation.

In the discussion of the Facebook post, the user Ihor Andreychuk emphasized that a similar situation recently occurred in the Plosky River.

"Do you think, friends, someone from the city authorities or other structures will give an explanation: Why is the river in such a state? Doesn't everyone care! not on time?", Karvan commented on the video from September 2 regarding the state of the Ploska river near the settlement from Grechan in Sharovechka.

Activists call on local authorities and environmental agencies to pay attention to this problem, which they already call an environmental disaster.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Khmelnytskyi untreated sewage effluents from the Grechany microdistrict have been polluting the South Bug River for years. In the neighborhood, only 498 households are connected to the sewage system, that is, less than a quarter.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Khmelnytskyi court convicted Volodymyr Didukh, deputy director of the Department of Ecology of the OVA, who received UAH 6,000 for assisting in the issuance of permits for the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere. The official signed a plea agreement and agreed to pay a fine of 42.5 thousand hryvnias.
