The company seeks to increase the number of gas stations that equip their facilities with hydrogen refueling equipment

Mass logistics provider HOYER Group has expanded its range of solutions to provide a European network of service stations for clean alternative fuels such as hydrogen.

This was announced on Wednesday, June 22, by a specialized publication gasworld.

It is noted that HOYER, advancing its efforts to accelerate the energy transition, seeks to establish itself as a pioneer in the field of intelligent management of hydrogen fuel stocks at service stations.

As green hydrogen is considered key to meeting the net zero emissions targets in several difficult-to-reduce industries, such as transport, the lack of hydrogen filling stations in the UK has become increasingly important.

According to UK H2 Mobility, there are currently only 14 hydrogen cells for fuel cell electric vehicles in the UK.

By offering automated inventory management based on forecasts and hydrogen supply logistics, HOYER seeks to increase the number of filling stations that equip their facilities with hydrogen refueling equipment.

"We can now provide gas station owners with our management services for both fossil fuels and alternative fuels," said Richard Thompson, Commercial Director for Gas and Oil Logistics at HOYER Group.

We will add that the supply of hydrogen to industrial consumers has become a big global business, and by 2018 the demand for it has grown sharply to more than 70 million tons per year.

Emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere are about 830 million tons per year, so there are opportunities to clean the hydrogen industry by producing gas using renewable methods such as electrolysis using renewable energy.

According to PwC, by 2030 the cost of hydrogen production will be reduced by about 50%.

It will also be recalled that during a professional discussion on hydrogen transportation and storage in Ukraine, initiated by the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and the Energy Club, they said that transportation of hydrogen through the gas transportation system of Ukraine can lead to loss of strength of pipelines.
