The Ministry of Economy invites government officials, businesses, and experts

Ukraine plans to update and expand the Concept for the Implementation of State Policy on Industrial Pollution. The current version was adopted back in 2019 and does not take into account a number of legislative changes and European integration requirements.

This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.

The updated Concept must reflect the current situation—new legislation, the need to implement European standards, and practical experience in the field of pollution control and prevention.

Call for collaboration

To prepare the amendments and additions, the Ministry of Economy is establishing an interagency working group. Experts from all interested parties—government authorities, local self-government bodies, business, the scientific community, and the public—are invited to join.

To participate in the collaborative work on the document, you must register by June 15, 2026. The registration form is available at this link.

As reported, the decision to establish the working group is the Ministry of Economy’s response to the outcomes of the roundtable discussion “Reform of Industrial Pollution Prevention and Control: Introduction of Unified Permits.”

Earlier, EcoPolitics reported that the ministry had promised to introduce a new system for issuing permits—one that is transparent and unified. It is intended to consolidate separate emission permits, thereby reducing the administrative burden on businesses.

Also in May, Ukraine submitted its first application for an integrated environmental permit (IEP).
