The new waste processing complex is planned to be environmentally friendly

In the Prydniprovskyi district of Dnipro, a tender has been announced for design and survey work for the construction of a waste incineration plant. The total cost of the work is almost UAH 12 million.

This was reported by the publication Vidomo, citing Prozorro.

The project envisages that the waste incineration plant will have a reception department and a sorting line for primary waste treatment, as well as departments for manual and mechanical sorting of recyclable materials and hazardous components.

The plant is planned to be equipped with an RDF fuel production line for thermal treatment, gas cleaning facilities with a multi-level flue gas filtration system, and a pollution monitoring system.

The following facilities are planned to be built on the territory of the enterprise: laboratories, warehouses, access roads, water supply and sewage systems, as well as a fire safety system. The project will be implemented in accordance with the local waste management plan until 2030.

According to the plan, the working group that will facilitate the construction was to include representatives of business, scientific organizations, and the public, but the list of participants, except for officials, has not been formed.

According to local activists, the project involves large-scale changes in the waste management system and requires control by experts and residents. As stated in the procurement tender, the project must be implemented by December 1, 2025.

As EcoPolitics wrote earlier, there are plans to build a modern waste processing center in the Obukhiv district of the Kyiv region, which will ensure the ecological disposal of waste and the production of electricity.
