Over the past eight years, the State Energy Efficiency Fund has allocated 5.4 billion hryvnias to projects aimed at modernising Ukrainian buildings. In total, more than 2,400 initiatives — have already been implemented to improve energy efficiency, install equipment for ‘green’ energy generation and carry out renovation work.
These are the results of the foundation’s work as at the beginning of September.
The largest number of grants were awarded for projects under the ‘Energodim’ programme. A total of 763 projects have already been implemented under this programme, of which 177 — were in 2025, and 149 — from the start of 2026. A further 102 applications are currently being processed by the fund.

The total cost of energy efficiency projects — is 6.3 billion UAH, of which 2.7 billion UAH has been covered by grants from the ministry.
The initiatives implemented have improved the energy performance of homes in which nearly 88,000 families live. Thanks to various energy-efficiency measures — ranging from the installation of private solar power stations to insulation — the homes taking part in the programme save 298.9 million kWh of energy each year.
The measures also had a clearly measurable impact on the climate. Thanks to the reduction in energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions — fell by 82.3 thousand tonnes per year.

A further 214.9 million UAH in grants has been disbursed for the implementation of ‘GreenDIM’ projects. The total value of the projects submitted is 595.8 million UAH, and over 52,000 families will benefit from them. Under this programme, the largest number of projects have been implemented in the Kyiv (77) and Lviv (60) regions.

The Energy Efficiency Fund is also helping to repair damaged homes. 2.5 billion hryvnias in grant funding has been spent on this area of work, whilst the total value of the projects submitted amounts to 3.2 billion hryvnias. The largest number of projects have been carried out in the Zaporizhzhia (398), Mykolaiv (297) and Kharkiv (243) regions.
EcoPolitic reported on some examples of the foundation’s projects. For instance, thanks to comprehensive thermal modernisation, energy consumption at the ‘Edelweiss 24’ homeowners’ association building in Kolomyia was reduced by almost 60 per cent. Meanwhile, the “Svitanok 19” homeowners’ association in Novyi Rozdil uses half as much energy as neighbouring buildings.
