In Ternopil region, a farm was illegally leased 7 hectares of the Tovtrovy Step national reserve.
Prosecutors of the Terebovlya District Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit in the interests of the state to reclaim two land plots as state property, the press service of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.
It is noted that the lands of the nature reserve fund were illegally transferred to the communal ownership of the Pidvolochysk village council. After that, they were leased to a farm for agricultural production.
The report added that the value of the land exceeds 400 million hryvnias.
As you know, Tovtrovyi Step protects an integral fragment of the Tovtrovyi Ridge, habitats of rare and endangered species of plants and insects. A significant part of the reserve is occupied by steppe communities listed in the Green and Red Books of Ukraine, as well as plant species included in the List of Rare and Threatened Species of Flora in Ternopil Oblast.
As GMK Center reported earlier, an auction was held in Volyn to grant a special permit for sand extraction from the Starovyzhivske deposit, 150 hectares of which are located in the Smolyarivskyi general zoological reserve.
