The solar power plant installed on the roof of the Kostopil glassworks plant (Rivna region) was able to reduce the company's emissions by 98 tons of CO2 in just one month thanks to its work.

Dmytro Oliinyk, head of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, announced this on Facebook.

He emphasized that the effect of SPP activity in just one month of operation can be conditionally equated to planting 135 trees.

"There was more sun. During the month of operation of the solar station, thanks to green energy, we were able to conditionally plant 135 trees. Emissions into the atmosphere were reduced by 98 tons of CO2... Europe became even closer... Kostopil is Europe," Oliynyk wrote.

Reference: KZS is one of the largest manufacturers of glass containers, specializing in the production of flint glass products, namely colorless bottles, cans and vials. The enterprise is equipped with two furnaces with a total capacity of over 250 tons per day and new glass forming machines. In 2020, more than 450 million glass products were produced, 60% of which were delivered to the European market.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kryvyi Rih at the tailings storage facility of PSV "Northern GZK", which belongs to the "Metinvest" group, new technologies for dust suppression are being tested with the help of binders.
