In Vinnytsia, the executive committee of the city council approved a five-year program for the construction of solar power plants in communal facilities, which will begin to be implemented in 2023.
As part of the pilot project, solar power plants will be installed in five city hospitals and one community sports facility, Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morgunov reported on Facebook.
"Maximum energy independence is a task that is relevant today for business, for critical infrastructure, and for institutions of the social sphere. This is an extremely important issue for the entire country, because Russia does not stop trying to destroy our energy facilities," he emphasized.
According to him, systemic decisions are made in the community, which are aimed specifically at strengthening energy independence at the municipal level.
Morgunov noted that renewable energy is also a priority of the European Green Course.
"We don't just declare it, we act," he emphasized.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in January 2022, the Vinnytsia urban territorial community will be the first in Ukraine announced the Green Course within the framework of the European Green Deal.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Ukraine 50 hospitals will be equipped with hybrid photovoltaic plants free of charge, which will allow critical departments to work without interruption for at least 2-3 hours.
