In the field of health care, the question of energy independence actually becomes a question of people's lives

In Ukraine, 50 hospitals will be equipped with hybrid photovoltaic plants for free, which will allow critical departments to work without interruption for at least 2-3 hours.

Currently, equipment with a capacity of 44.59 kW is already being installed in the Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital and in the Ivankiv Central District Hospital with a capacity of 25.07 kW, reports the Government Portal.

It is noted that these stations consist of solar panels, inverters and an energy storage system. The initiative is implemented as part of the "50 solar hospitals" project with the support of the "Energy Action for Ukraine" charity organization.

The message emphasized that the project will allow hospitals to be more resilient during emergency power outages against the background of Russian energy terrorism and to be prepared for emergency situations.

"The realities in which we live, when Russia has been attacking us almost every day for more than a year, present us with new challenges that we cannot remain aloof from. Not only the military, but also civilians are under threat. Last winter, once again proved how urgent the issue of energy independence is," said Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.

He emphasized that in the field of health care, the question of energy independence actually becomes a question of people's life and health.

"Our goal is to provide uninterrupted medical care to all patients who need it," Lyashko added.

It is noted that thanks to the solar stations, during emergency shutdowns, operating rooms, intensive care units, and departments of pathology of newborns and premature children will be provided with the necessary electricity.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in March 2023, the Ministry of Health announced that a number of hospitals will be equipped with humanitarian solar panels as part of the "Ray of Hope" project. This will allow establishments to save up to 70% of energy costs and partially ensure work during power outages.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Zhytomyr region, a hospital in the city of Zviagel was equipped with solar panels at the expense of benefactors.
