In Kyiv, on Thursday, February 9, the concentration of suspended particles (dust) in the air increased, due to which citizens are urged not to open windows and to limit their time outside.

The level of PM10 in Volodymyrsky Uzvoz reached 75, and the air has a yellow (medium) level of CAQI general quality, the Kyiv City State Administration reported on Facebook.

As you know, the average level of pollution corresponds to CAQI indicators of 50-75, and high 75-100.ecopolitic.com.ua

The message explained that the cause of air deterioration is a combination of meteorological factors, in particular, low wind speed.

The KMDA noted that exceeding the maximum permissible concentrations of other air pollutants was not recorded. The radiation background is normal.

To improve the situation with the air condition, it is recommended:

  • close the windows;
  • limit being outside;
  • drink a lot of water;
  • if there is an air purifier, turn it on to the maximum.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote ,that Kyiv residents will be able to receive promptly notification of deterioration of air quality in the "Kyiv Digital" application. The app will notify residents if the city-wide air quality index is 75 or higher.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the air of Kyiv during the week from January 30 to February 4, 2023, an excess of the average daily maximum permissible concentrations of nitrogen dioxide by 3.8 times.
