Kyiv residents will be able to quickly receive notifications about air quality deterioration in the Kyiv Digital application.

The application will notify citizens if the air quality index in the entire city is 75 or higher, i.e. it corresponds to the value of high level of pollution, Oleksandr Vozniy, head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the KMDA, reports on Facebook.

He emphasized that this service will primarily be useful for parents of young children, people with poor health and the elderly. In the case of receiving such a message, Kyiv residents are advised to postpone long walks and refrain from physical activity.

To receive notifications and recommendations in case of worsening air quality, you need to enable notifications in the application settings.

The service was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the Department of Ecology with the Kyiv digital transformation team.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kyiv, SaveDnipro conducted research on evaluation of microdistricts according to ecological indicators, in particular, the quality of air, drinking water, the state of water resources, soils, the availability of green areas, and littering of territories.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, Oleksandr Starukh, head of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, said that emissions into the atmosphere cause great indignation among residents, therefore, it is necessary to speed up the resolution of this problem.
