This tax is paid if the entrepreneur uses up to 200 tons of fuel per year

Ukrainians will not have to pay environmental tax for using diesel generators as a backup source of electricity, if the volume of CO2 emissions does not exceed 500 tons per year.

This was reported by the chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev on Telegram.

He explained that if an entrepreneur uses up to 200 tons of fuel per year, there is no need to pay environmental tax, which is stated in Article 240.7 of the Tax Code of Ukraine.

As Eco District reported, if the annual volume of emissions exceeds 500 tons, entrepreneurs are required to register as tax payers in the tax (reporting) period in which such excess occurred, submit tax returns, calculate and pay tax.

As EcoPolitic reported before, diesel and gasoline generators, which Ukrainians use en masse in the realities of war, create noise at the level of 88-95 dB, with normative indicators up to 55 dB during the day and 45 dB at night. Also, during their work, toxic exhaust gases and soot enter the air, which negatively affects human health and the environment.
