Water does not meet the standards

In the Zhytomyr region, deviations from hygienic norms were found on all beaches, so experts do not recommend swimming there.

Relevant research results were published on site of Zhytomyr Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to experts, the water in the Teteriv River and in quarries within Zhytomyr does not meet the standards on any beach. There are deviations in chemical parameters and biological oxygen consumption. The same norms are exceeded in the rivers flowing in Berdychiv, Korosten and Novohrad-Volynskyi.

"According to sanitary and chemical indicators, deviations were recorded for BSC5 (norm not more than 3.0 mgO2 / dm3) and HSC (norm not more than 30.0 mgO2 / dm3) in Zhytomyr, Berdychiv and Novohrad-Volynskyi. water in Korosten does not correspond to microbiological indicators (LKP index 24000 in 1 dm3, at norm no more than 5000 in 1 dm3) ", - reported in the regional center of control and prevention of diseases.

Locals in the comments of Public noted that visually it does not look like the water in the river Teteriv in Zhytomyr, on the central beach of the Hydropark also does not seem clean.

"There is still a current here, the water is cleaner, and the beach is generally muddy, green, blooming. We just wet our feet and went out, just resting in the shade," - said vacationer Victoria Dergilova.

Zhytomyr resident Tetyana said that the water is dirty and green, so she comes to the beach infrequently. "For the third time this season, but last time it was cleaner," the woman added.

Before EcoPolitic wrote that in Zhytomyr more than a thousand people cleaned the waterfront in the city park.
