Last year, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, an access road was built to the checkpoint of Unit I of the Burshtyn TPP using industrial waste, namely ash.

The other day, specialists of the State Research Institute assessed the technical condition of the experimental section of the highway. Photos of what she looks like today, published on facebook page enterprises.

It is noted that the experiment consisted in adding ash to individual layers of the pavement structure (PS).

For example, in the 1st section (200 m) PS provided four layers: 26 cm of C5 gravel-sand mixture, which contains 30% of wet ash from the hydraulic dump; 12 cm of GSM, reinforced with cement, which contains 25% of wet ash from the hydraulic dump, and two layers 12 cm thick, bituminous-mineral mixture with complete replacement of mineral powder with dry removal ash.

On the 2nd section (700 m) the construction of pavement provided for the installation of two layers, with a total thickness of 12 cm, a bituminous-mineral mixture with complete replacement of mineral powder with dry ash.

Scientific and technical support was provided by the State Road Research Institute named after MP Shulgina.

The institute concluded that six months of operation, including winter, showed that the site is in good condition.

As reported EcoPolitics Earlier, DTEK Energo built 900 m of road in the area of Burshtyn TPP with the use of ash slag - product of coal combustion.

Recall that the business community called on the state to encourage the use of waste thermal power plants (TPPs) in road construction.

We would also like to add that the Metinvest group provided assistance in the construction and repair of roads in the village of Krasna Polyana in the Donetsk region and the Vohnyk country cooperative located in Dnipro. Namely Mariupol plants ship 8,000 tons of metallurgical slag free of charge for restoration and improvement of roads.
