The company has completely removed this category of goods from its website.

The largest Ukrainian online retailer Rozetka has withdrawn fireworks, firecrackers and other pyrotechnics from its assortment.

On Monday, June 13, such a decision was announced by press office companies on Facebook.

“The sounds of explosions disturb people with post-traumatic stress disorder, children and the elderly, and also frighten pets. Moreover, it is unacceptable to use pyrotechnics for entertainment during the war,” the company said.

It is noted that Rozetka itself did not sell such goods, but this could be done by the retailer's partner companies on the marketplace. Now the company has completely removed this category of goods from its website.

Note that the Ukrainian authorities are already considering a law to ban the sale of pyrotechnics. This became possible thanks to the all-Ukrainian humanist movement UAnimals, which recently, together with the inter-factional association “Humannaya Strana”, submitted to the Goverment bill 7438 on a ban on pyrotechnic products.

Representatives of Rozetka thanked the animal rights activists for this initiative and supported it, and also urged their colleagues to do the same.

"It is simply necessary to ban the sale of pyrotechnics in Ukraine. Its use during the war is unacceptable, because even thunder causes people to panic, let alone fireworks explosions that look like bomb explosions. We urge our colleagues among Ukrainian retailers and other companies to rather join the initiative,” said Vladislav Chechetkin, co-founder of Rozetka.

The day before EcoPolicy reported that bill registered in the Goverment, which proposes to restrict the sale, transfer and use of pyrotechnics such as fireworks and firecrackers.
