Most often, eco-inspectors recorded unauthorized landfills on the territory of settlements, water protection zones, recreation areas, etc.

In 11 months of 2022, eco-inspectors recorded almost 1,500 violations in the field of waste management, which caused damage to the environment of about 700 million hryvnias.

Fines of 840,000 hryvnias were imposed on violators of environmental legislation in the handling of waste and chemical substances, the State Environmental Inspection reports on Facebook.

It was noted that the environmental violators paid 100% of the fines.

Eco-inspectors recorded the following violations:

  • non-fulfillment of the requirements for handling waste during its collection, transportation, storage, processing, disposal, disposal, removal and burial;
  • unauthorized dumping and placement of waste, in particular household waste, on the territory of settlements, water protection zones, recreation areas, etc.;
  • unauthorized placement of used packaging materials and containers;
  • storage and disposal of waste in unauthorized places or facilities, such as used lubricants, lead batteries, tires from transport maintenance, etc.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that eco-inspectors for 11 months of 2022 calculated more than 1.53 billion hryvnias of damage to the environment, caused by violators of environmental legislation.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets presented the Waste Management Reform Roadmap. It shows specific steps and deadlines for the implementation of extended producer responsibility, industrial and hazardous waste management, liquidation of spontaneous landfills, etc.
