Specialists of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and the Ministry of Energy have developed a Procedure for providing information on the certification of energy and environmental management systems of economic entities.
The act developed by the project will ensure the introduction of a single transparent approach to the systematization of information on the certification of the energy management system (SEnM) of enterprises, according to a press release from the State Agency for Energy Efficiency.
The draft act proposes a clear mechanism according to which:
- certification bodies will provide the State Agency for Energy Efficiency with information on the certification of energy and environmental management systems of enterprises in accordance with harmonized international standards in a certain form;
- on the basis of the received information the State Agency for Energy Efficiency will form and maintain a register of these enterprises.
"SEnM is a key factor in ensuring energy security of enterprises, their sustainable operation and strategic development, which is especially important in the current challenges," said the head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency Valery Bezus.
Widespread implementation of SEnM in accordance with the requirements of international standards of the ISO 50000 series "Energy Management Systems" is one of the levers to improve energy efficiency, particularly in industry. After all, the enterprises that implement SEnM, with minimal investment during the first years receive an increase in energy efficiency in the range of 10-20%.
SENM will also help companies reduce production costs, comply with environmental standards and increase competitiveness.
The press release also noted that the draft act, which was submitted for discussion, can be found at link. Proposals will be accepted within a month by e-mail: vaudit@saee.gov.ua.
We will remind, Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency Valery Bezus stated that Ukraine needs to create a transparent and reliable mechanism for guaranteeing the origin of "green" energy, that will have confidence in the EU.
As EcoPolitics reported earlier, business and government representatives will discuss Ukraine's accession to ENTSO-E.
