This is the first medical institution in Ukraine where such an energy-efficient system has been installed

In the Kyiv region, in the village of Gorenka, in the Buchansky district, a solar power plant and a ground-water heat pump for heating were installed on the roof of a dispensary damaged by Russian troops.

Autonomous energy supply will allow the medical institution to cover up to 60% of its needs, Mykhailo Radutskyi, the head of the Committee on the Health of the Nation, Medical Aid and Medical Insurance, reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the Russian troops destroyed the heating system of the dispensary. According to the UN, after the Russian occupation, the village of Gorenka was destroyed by approximately 80%.

He emphasized that the use of green energy sources will reduce heating costs by about 80%. According to experts' calculations, the costs for the reconstruction of the heating system and the installation of solar panels will pay off in 6-7 years.

"This is the first medical institution in Ukraine where such an energy-efficient system has been installed," said Radutskyi.

The message emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian troops destroyed 1,044 medical facilities and completely destroyed another 173.

"In the Plan for the post-war recovery of the medical industry, we provided for the reconstruction and modernization of institutions on the basis of energy efficiency. Such requirements are also adopted in the new version of the state building regulations "Health Care Institutions". Our goal is not just to build hospitals that were damaged or destroyed by the occupiers, but to do it in accordance with European norms, among which energy efficiency and energy independence occupy an important place," Radutsky emphasized.

It is noted that the project was implemented with the help of Greenpeace and Ukrainian public organizations, in particular "Ekodia", "Ekoclub" and the charity fund "Victory of Ukraine".

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Irpen, Kyiv region, a solar station with electricity conservation systems was opened on the roof of the "Mriya" lyceum, as part of the "100 solar schools" project.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Zhytomyr region, solar panels were installed on the roof of the district hospital in the city of Zviagel, which already partially meet the needs of the medical facility.
