In Kyiv, on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, representatives of foreign organizations planted a symbolic Alley of international support for Ukraine with 7 cherry blossoms from 7 organizations from different countries.
The trees will help raise funds for medicine for the front-line regions of Ukraine and medical facilities and organizations that are struggling with the consequences of the war, reports the Kyivzelenbud association on Facebook.
The press service said that a corresponding name plate with the name of the country, a QR code to the project link with the possibility of transferring funds is installed near each tree.
It is noted that representatives of international organizations joined the planting of trees:
- World of Connection - USA;
- PJSC "UKST "Toronto-Kyiv" - Canada;
- Blue/ Yellow – Lithuania;
- Israel Trauma Coalition (Israel Trauma Coalition) - Israel.
Later, representatives of the UK, Poland and Germany joined the action.
"This is another project of the International Charitable Foundation "Park Peremogy" with the support of Kyivzelenbud. It unites international organizations with the aim of collecting funds for the needs of medical institutions and organizations operating in the front-line territories of Ukraine," the message reads.
The press service said that citizens of partner countries will be able to join the gathering and write their name, quote, and wishes for Ukrainians in a plaque under the tree of their country.
"Sakuras on the Independence Square are an opportunity to once again tell the world about our struggle, the resilience of our people and to enlist the support of foreign friends as well. The location was not chosen by chance. After all, the Maidan symbolizes the unity of Ukrainians and the world with us," said Oleksiy, CEO of Kyivzelenbud King.
It is noted that these are not the first trees that "collect" funds for urgent needs arising in war conditions. Already landed in Kyiv:
- 5 plane trees near one of the military hospitals - for the vital drug Albumin;
- 10 poplar on the blvd. Lesya Ukrainka - for FPV drones for fighters of the SBU "Alfa" TsSO;
- 5 magnolias in Maria Zankovetska's park - for the purchase of summer berets for female military servicemen;
- 15 sakura trees in the square on the street of Heroes of the Azov Regiment in the Obolonsky district - for high-tech equipment for soldiers.
As EcoPolitic previously reported, 15 cherry blossoms were planted by the Azov regiment on Heroiv Street in Obolonsky district of Kyiv, which will help raise money for the purchase of 15 sets of equipment necessary for soldiers.
