Fish patrol counteract poachers around the clock

In Khmelnitsky, Poltava, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions, fish marauders have caused damage in the amount of UAH 1.8 million since the beginning of autumn.

Also in the Kyiv region, fish guards destroyed 143 poaching fishing gear seized during raids from violators, in particular, "screens", "spiders", yaters, crabs, nets, etc., the State Fishery Agency reports on Facebook.

In the Khmelnitsky region, fish guards and water police on the Volk River exposed an intruder who poached with nets, causing damage to fisheries for 268 thousand UAH. On the same day, another intruder was exposed nearby, who caught almost 400 fish with nets and caused 635,000 UAH of damage.

Also, the Poltava fish patrol, together with the police, caught a fish marauder, who caught 52 kg of fish with nets on the Kamensky reservoir, which caused losses of UAH 610,000.

In the Kharkiv region, at a headquarters in the Bogodukhovsky district, violators, despite the ban on catching crayfish, caught them using crayfish. The damage reached 173 thousand UAH.

In addition, in the Chernihiv region, the fish patrol, together with the water police, exposed a poacher who was fishing on the Desna River. He will have to pay UAH 104,000 in damages.

"Fish patrols of the State Fisheries Agency continue to protect aquatic biological resources 24/7 in order to protect water bodies from poaching," the article noted.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Poltava region in the city of Horishni Plavni, a poacher who caught fish and crayfish for more than 4 million hryvnias at the Kamenskoe reservoir was found.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, two poachers were caught in the Kirovograd region, catching fish with nets more than UAH 2 million in the forbidden zone Kremenchug HPP.
