The most high-profile violation, for about 2.5 million hryvnias, was recorded in the Kirovohrad region

In Ukraine, poachers caused damage to the environment in the amount of more than 41 million hryvnias in 9 months of 2022.

Since the beginning of the year, eco-inspectors have conducted about 500 measures and drawn up more than 2,000 administrative protocols against violators of environmental legislation, the State Environmental Inspectorate reports on Facebook.

In the message, it was noted that the largest number of violations of fishing rules, namely 164, was recorded by eco-inspectors of the Dnipro district. In the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, poachers caused damage to the state in the total amount of over 16 million hryvnias.

The most high-profile violation was recorded in the Kirovohrad region at the beginning of May at the Kremenchuk HPP dam of the Kamian reservoir of the Dnipro River near the city of Svitlovodsk. Employees of the State Inspectorate and the National Police discovered 12 nets, from which they took 270 kg of fish worth more than 2.43 million hryvnias.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Poltava region, within the regional landscape park "Nizhnyovorsklyanskyi" near the village of Kishenky, law enforcement officers caught two poachers who used nets from a boat almost 100 kilograms of fish were caught.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions, fish marauders caused damage in the amount of UAH 1.8 million for the first week of autumn.
