Ukrainians were told how to purify drinking water at home

Boiling does not purify water from chemical pollution

Due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, a number of communities were left without a centralized water supply, therefore, in the absence of other alternatives, experts urge people to carry out four-stage purification of water before consumption.

After all, chemicals, causative agents of infectious diseases from cemeteries, latrines, and landfills can end up in wells and open water bodies due to flooding, the Ministry of Health reports on Facebook.

How to turn polluted water into potable water:

  1. strain through a clean cloth;
  2. stand in a clean and closed container for one or two days, after which a sediment will form;
  3. filter the water using a filter. If it is not there, you can easily make it yourself. For this, a container, such as a bottle without a bottom, must be filled with gravel, sand and charcoal or activated charcoal;
  4. boil water for 5 minutes for disinfection.

These 4 steps will allow you to purify water from any source from all kinds of pests, except for chemical pollution.facebook.com/moz.ukr

Doctors called on the following rules to reduce the risk of infectious diseases in the affected areas:

  • drink only bottled or imported water;
  • water for cooking and household needs should be taken only from proven sources. A river or a well in the yard is no longer a proven source of water, just like a water pipe intended for technical purposes;
  • boil or otherwise disinfect water taken for drinking, washing fruits, berries or dishes. It should be remembered that boiling does not rid water of chemical pollution;
  • refuse products that have been flooded with water, even from preservation;
  • subject all products to heat treatment (boiling, frying, baking);
  • wash hands thoroughly with soap;
  • do not wear clothes that were contaminated during flooding without first washing and disinfecting.

The message also urged not to collect or consume fish that died during the sea due to falling water levels. This can cause botulism.

"If you feel abdominal pain, have vomiting, diarrhea, elevated body temperature and other unusual symptoms, do not resort to self-medication – immediately consult a doctor," the doctors emphasized.

Also add cbd tea.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that due to the undermining of the Kakhovskaya HPP in Nikopolsky and part of Kryvorizky districts Dnipropetrovsk Region was left without water supply.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, eco-inspectors found a decrease in the salinity of the Black Sea water in Odesa by almost 3 times after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Also in water the iron content is 9 times higher.
