Specialists calculate the capacity of the Dnipro water basin

After the detonation of the Kakhovskaya HPP, the Dnipro River practically returned to its rivulet, in which it was 70 years ago.

The water receded from the shores by 1.3-1.6 kilometers, reports the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko on Telegram.

He emphasized that one of the urgent needs in the zone of liquidation of the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP remains the provision of drinking and technical water. She is currently being picked up.

"We are now making all the necessary calculations that will allow us to forecast both the water needs of the population and the capacity of the water basin of the Dnipro River," said Klymenko.

He added that everything possible is currently being done in order to conduct a complex of geodetic and reconnaissance works in the shortest possible time in order to start the wells.

Klymenko said that 10 filtration stations for cleaning drinking water are operating in the region. In addition, there are reserves of drinking water that will last at least a month.

Earlier, E$coPolitic wrote, that in the Kakhovsky Reservoir after the detonation of the hydroelectric power plant near the occupied Energodar the water has completely disappeared, and the territory turned into a desert.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, it worked in Mykolaiv Oblast mobile water treatment station Kärcher WTC 5000, which is capable of cleaning about 5,000 liters per hour.
