Thanks to the new installations, the city will be able to save 3 million hryvnias per year

In Vinnytsia, economizers were installed at two boiler houses - modern units for heat utilization of flue gases.

This will make it possible to increase the efficiency of boiler plants, reduce the use of gas, and also reduce emissions of pollutants and carbon, Vinnytsiamiskteploenergo reports on Facebook.

The message emphasized that the biggest losses during the operation of gas boilers are heat losses with flue gases. Economizers with a capacity of 350 KW (0.3 Gcal/h) will allow each boiler room to additionally receive 350 KW of heat energy per hour.

It is noted that this is possible due to obtaining heat from the exhaust gases that previously went into the chimney. In addition, thanks to the modernization, their temperature will decrease by 60 °C. This will save 166,000 m3 of gas per heating period at each boiler room and save 3 million hryvnias per year.

The press service explained that the modernization will allow to reduce gas consumption, as well as increase the efficiency factor of the boilers by 5%. Currently, this indicator reaches 88-91%.facebook.com/kp.vmte

The message emphasized that eco-modernization will also reduce the amount of emissions of pollutants into the air, namely:

  • nitrogen oxides (causing acid rain) – by 0.67 tons per year;
  • carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide) – by 0.17 tons per year;
  • of carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) – by 706 tons per year.

It is noted that the project was implemented with the support of the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine, the UN Agency for Migration in Ukraine.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast will reduce dust emissions to 20,000 tons per year, or 55 tons per day. This became possible thanks to the installation of a gas aspiration station in the sintering plant at the end of 2021.
