During the week, environmental violators caused damages in the amount of 8.97 million hryvnias

In Mykolaiv, damage from air pollution due to a fire at the company's municipal landfill Milcha reached 2.53 million hryvnias.

This became one of the most high-profile violations of environmental protection legislation during the week from July 21 to 27, the State Environmental Inspection reports on Facebook.

The message emphasized that the materials on the criminal offense were sent to the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Odesa and Kharkiv oblasts became the most prominent for violating the requirements of environmental protection legislation.

It is noted that other anti-leaders of the week were:

  • Vinnytsia region;

Eco-inspectors calculated more than 983 thousand hryvnias in damages for the illegal felling of 121 trees in the territory of the Illinetsky District Forest and presented a claim. Law enforcement officers have opened criminal proceedings on this fact.

  • Transcarpathian region;

The message said that 2 claims for the total amount of 2.8 million hryvnias were presented to the Uzhhorod City Council for the destruction of trees in parks-monuments, namely in T. Masaryk Square and Parterny Square. The materials were sent to the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.

  • Kirovohrad region;

Eco-inspectors presented a claim to poachers in the amount of 1.4 million hryvnias for catching fish in the Berezivka River near Dolynsk. The case materials were handed over to the National Police.

  • Odesa region;

In the message, it was emphasized that in the Izmail district, LLC "Orlivka Ferry Complex" filed a claim for the amount of 884,000 hryvnias for the destruction of 450 trees near the Danube River.

  • Kharkiv region;

Eco-inspectors calculated 555 thousand hryvnias and presented a claim to KP "Voda Eshara". The company pumped out underground water without a special permit. The case materials were sent to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

It is noted that during the week, eco-inspectors conducted 112 control measures and drew up 177 protocols on administrative offenses. The total amount of fines imposed is 56 thousand hryvnias. 38,000 hryvnias were charged to the State Budget.

In the message, it was emphasized that damages in the amount of 8.97 million hryvnias were calculated for the violation of the requirements of environmental protection legislation. The total amount of presented claims and lawsuits is 7.9 million hryvnias. It was possible to collect 1.66 million hryvnias voluntarily and forcibly.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kharkiv region, the Water Supply and Sewerage Communal Department of the Lyubotna City Council pumped 483.2 thousand m3 of water from artesian wells without special permission, and KP "ESHARA WATER" – 386.17 thousand m3. Losses from such activities amounted to more than 1.64 million UAH.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, deputies of the Lviv Regional Council criticized the appointment of Oleksandr Shtepa to the post of head of the regional State Environmental Inspection and demanded his dismissal.
