You can bring the Christmas tree to the composting station yourself

In Lviv, residents and guests of the city handed over 2 tons of Christmas trees to the composting station for processing.

Christmas trees are bulky waste that cannot be thrown away containers for household waste, and must be taken to one of 7 centralized collection points by January 29, reports "Green City" on Facebook.

The report said that at the station, Christmas trees are chopped into chips and composted with other organic waste, because they have an increased content of tannins.

"Conifer wood chips should be balanced with other tree species for optimal decomposition time. And compost with a large amount of needles due to the optimal (acidic) pH is useful for growing orchids and blueberries," the authors emphasized.

  • January 25;
  • January 28-29.
