In Kyiv, on Shukhevycha Avenue in the Dnipro district, criminals drilled holes in more than 100 trees and poured an unidentified liquid into them.
Most of the trees have already started to dry out, it is reported Oleksandr Vozny, head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the KMDA, on Facebook.
"This is an absolutely shocking case of mass destruction of trees in Kyiv, the motives of which have yet to be clarified. We ask the citizens of Kyiv who may have witnessed this crime to respond and help identify the perpetrators," he emphasized.
Carriage said that utility workers discovered violations on Tuesday, July 18, during an inspection of the territory. They immediately called all relevant services, including employees of the State Environmental Inspection and the National Police.
He urged witnesses to contact the communal enterprise for the maintenance of green areas of the Dnipro district by phone at 044 594 82 00 or to eco-inspectors (044 209 12 56).
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that criminal proceedings were opened in Kyiv against the perpetrators who sawed down two bicentenary oaks on Beresteyskyi Prospekt near the "Zhytomyrska" metro station.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kyiv, in the yard of a high-rise building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, about 10 trees were cut down in order to arrange a parking lot. Trees were destroyed without proper documents and consultation with local residents.
