This is the second postponement of the date after the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU

Parliamentarians supported in general the draft law No. 12267, which provides for the postponement of the introduction of Euro 6 environmental standards for trucks and buses until January 1, 2027.

This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.

From January 1, 2025, the introduction of the Euro 6 standard requirements will apply only to new vehicles manufactured in Ukraine or imported into the customs territory of the country under the codes of commodity item 8703 according to the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity. These are passenger cars and other vehicles intended primarily for the transportation of people, including cargo and passenger vans and racing cars.

For trucks and buses, compliance with Euro 6 will be required 2 years later – from January 1, 2027. These are vehicles classified under codes 8701 20, 8702, 8704, 8705 according to UKTZED, except for vehicles manufactured in Ukraine or imported into the customs territory of Ukraine before 31 December 2026 inclusive. This category includes, in particular, new and used truck tractors, buses, trucks, and special equipment.

As a reminder, Ukraine committed to introduce Euro 6 emission standards as part of the Association Agreement with the EU. But in 2019, this innovation was postponed until January 1, 2025.

In early December, EcoPolitic wrote that the Verkhovna Rada registered draft law No. 12267, which provides for the postponement of the introduction of Euro 6 environmental standards for trucks and buses until January 1, 2027. We also talked about which cars will become more expensive from January 1 due to the introduction of the European Euro 6 standard.
