In Lviv, the Lychakivsky District Court has begun to consider the case of Anton Kosovsky's lawsuit against the Lviv Forestry branch for reinstatement as chief forester.
He is involved in a criminal investigation for participating in the organization of a crypto farm on the basis of the Rava-Russke Forestry branch, Bomok reports.
It is noted that during the operation of the crypto farm, Kosovsky was the head of the Lviv Forestry branch. The criminals earned at least UAH 4 million from cryptocurrency mining, and the state-owned enterprise paid more than UAH 1.5 million for the electricity consumed.
In addition, the systematic overloading of utility networks caused blackouts and large-scale power outages in residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities.
"Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing within the framework of open criminal proceedings on the fact of embezzlement of state property, which provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment. Investigative actions are ongoing," the article said.
The material said that Kosovsky was also found guilty in other cases, namely:
- in 2020, as the director of Rava-Rusky Forest Farm, he signed an invoice in which the buyer of the goods was indicated as the already liquidated company "SANTEC LTD" (Great Britain). The court imposed a fine on him in the amount of 100% of the value of the goods (53,065.56 UAH) with confiscation of the goods and charged a court fee in the amount of 454 UAH;
- in 2027, the court found Kosovsky guilty of committing an administrative offense – violating the procedure for keeping tax records. At that time, he also headed the Rava-Rusky Forest Farm.
It is noted that the first court hearing regarding the reinstatement of Kosovsky was held on January 31, and the second hearing is scheduled for February 16.
As EcoPolitiс previously reported, in Lviv Oblast, the management of the branch of the state-owned enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" organized an underground data-center for cryptocurrency mining in the office premises of "Rava-Rus Forestry".
