Eco-inspectors calculated 2.4 million hryvnias in damages from the fire of dry grass, which occurred due to the impact of ammunition and their fragments, in the Kutsurub territorial community of the Mykolaiv region.

The fire released 792 tons of carbon dioxide into the air and destroyed 10,000 square meters of territory, the State Inspectorate of the South-Western District reports on Facebook.

The fire occurred on September 7, 2022.

The press service of the State Inspectorate explained that during such fires, among the pollutants entering the atmospheric air, the largest share is carbon dioxide. It has greenhouse properties, that is, it helps retain heat on the Earth's surface and makes the main contribution to global warming.

The damage calculations were handed over to investigative bodies and the Operational Headquarters, which forms a list of all violations in the field of environmental protection.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that eco-inspectors calculated 1.3 trillion hryvnias in losses, what russian troops have done to the environment of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kryvyi Rih, the state of water in the Ingulets River and its water area has completely stabilized after Russian troops destroyed the dam of the Karachuniv reservoir with a missile strike on September 14. Previous amount environmental damage is 637 million UAH.
